New trapper from Northern California (Modesto area)

Just got my license and I am looking to go along to learn the ways.If its too much even just wanting to learn to tan hides .Thanks any of your time or advice is appreciated .

You guys are limited to cage traps only correct? Lots of guys doing pretty good with cage traps on bobcats, otter, muskrats and beaver.

Yes , Im new so dont know use of others,nooses seem the most useful .

Camtrip makes excellent live traps and they stack real well so you can haul a pretty good bunch of them. I am really interested in double door cage traps I have seen some that are made by a guy in Maybell, Colorado and they probably have the highest catch percentage of any model. There are some bugs in them but I hear they are working them out and I believe Camtrip is also working on a double door model.

Cats just seem to be less wary if they can see all the way thru.

I believe they outlawed bobcat trapping in CA.

Can't use snares in CA and cannot trap Bobcats at all.

I know they arent legal. Thats why I made the statement that snares wouldve been useful. Sucks more because I have learn on my own for both trapping and hound hunting. Thats why this community is going downhill,everyone is out for themselves and could care less about the next generation .
