Definitely!! It was both of their first trip to the woods and it was very fun to way them play in the snow and trail on squirrels and any other track we came across. The older of the 2 went with the big dogs a mile when I turned out and trailed himself back. Fun outting for sure!

Re: Let’s talk.
Those ole cats get up high and get comfortable don’t they! There was a big cat on a game camera just a couple of places over from some places I hunt. It’s bound to be a Tom as big as it was.

Re: Let’s talk.
I thought about it lol. He’s in a safe place unfortunately. The place he was seen on is a place I use to hunt as well. Now it’s a buffer place kinda because it butts up to a place that has a weirdo owner. We had a run in a few years ago. One of my dogs got over on his place chasing a hog and him or one of his family members caught him and chained him up. My Garmin showed him treed in the guys place but he wasn’t barking. I finally drove several miles around to the guys drive way and sat there calling for him. I never went in because the gate was shut. Nobody came nor the dog. I knew he was tied up or dead other wise he would’ve come to me. Next thing I know a Sheriffs deputy pulls up. He started questioning what we were doing and I explained the situation and that I didn’t want to go on the guys place without consent but my dog was for sure in there. The deputy went in and the people followed him back out to the road with my dog. He started off with an attitude but we parted ways exchanging phone numbers so that I could call and give a heads up when I was going to be in the vicinity. From then on I just tried to stay away all together. My buddy has some cat dogs. I would take him over there but it’s still the same old problem.

Re: Let’s talk.
It’s getting tough like that everywhere. In our country people are buying up these little mine claims that are tops 100 yards wide and the public road goes right through the middle and they are putting up cameras taking pictures of every vehicle driving through. The claims are for mining but they are buying them to glamp I believe. There’s places I used to hunt I won’t set foot in now due to so many properties being slit down so u need 20 people’s permission.

Re: Let’s talk.
Merry Christmas, folks!
I haven’t been huntin much due to work and projects at home. We had an earthquake 2 weeks ago and it caused lots of sediment to fill my well. It’s filled my filtration system full of sand, filled my pressure tank up and burned out a couple pumps before I realized what had happened. I have to clean the system one more time today and hopefully that’s the last of it. If not I’ll have to get the well driller back out to clean the well again. I had him out just a few months ago for the same reason.
It’s cost me a bunch of money now…

Re: Let’s talk.
Man I had an absolutely amazing day!! Started out lion hunting and a friend that I haven’t hunted with in maybe 5 years came along, I learned to hunt from his dad. Turned out on a lion and my 6 month old puppy made the entire 3 mile race! The boys had a small kitten treed but we didn’t care as long as the dogs caught something. Drop off my buddy and grabbed my bird dog(in training) and headed back out. I pull out to a buddies pivot to hunt some river bottom and right in the field stood 2 roosters and 2 hens. I drove around them till they got nervous and headed for cover. Got buck out and eased over and 10 yards in he points beautifully but the first rooster didn’t hold, he gave a short chase and slammed to a point again. He held great and I flushed the bird and shot it , he ran out and pointed the dead bird but I was extremely happy. An hour later we are working back towards the truck and he points hard again but I figured it was a rabbit, I walk in whoaing him and another rooster erupts and this time I failed him and missed it twice on as easy a shot as u could ask for but he didn’t seem to mad at me
