Re: Plotts
I would have to agree with hunter. The Alisson bred plotts are some of the grittiest I have seen. You cannot leave out Weems breeding.

Re: Garmin Question for Steve White or Whoever can Awnser it
I have used my truck mount antenna for my VHF radio on my garmin and it works it is about 3 ft in length. Seemed to work near as good as the Garmin long range antenna.

Re: Yaesu VR-500
I use a icom, it does a decent job but does not have the range that you would get from a wildlife box. I have been told you can get a booster for it though and that the booster makes up the difference. The price was only $225.00 for the scanner. Re: Plott guys only
[quote="norcalkemmer"] i chose to not waste my time on plotts anymore when there are better breeds out there. Your Opinion , it needs to have brains as well. Good idea because its obvious you don't have any!! my dog needs to be able to catch more then bears, i like a dog that will run all the ...

That is 100% correct. It is in the house under review through a sub committe right now. I emailed Idaho representatives giving my opinions and asking them to stand against this.

Re: Plott guys only
If you were not looking for a fight why you posting on a topic that says "plott guys only". Also you did not clarify why you couldn't keep a plott for more than three years. And last it sounds like you don't want a dog that can catch a bear so you settle for one that would chase a bear at a distance ...

Re: Plott guys only
good. I think it is a smart move to find what works for you. when i got back in hunting i decided to go with walkers and kemmers. they have enough brains and grit to get shit done. my plotts were good dogs but i never could keep one alive longer then three years old.

Re: snow ?
There is a lot less snow this year in the mountains than last year, i just hope it starts warming up soon. Last year sucked for getting around in spring kill season. There were areas that still had snow the first of July.
