Re: Moose hounds again this year

Where are you at that you can run moose? That's pretty awesome.

Jeep Gladiator

Is anyone out there hunting out of one of these? Really putting it through its paces and can give a good off road review?

Beware the novice

Hi everyone, Just a PSA to never let an inexperienced hunter call a bear dead or let other people unleash your dogs. One of mine got bit square in the face by a dead bear last week. Praise God he came out just a bit scratched up, it could have been so much worse. The one blessing is that his first b...

Re: Neutering males without a vet

Just don't try to band them like cattle. Yes this has really happened and yes it has gone horribly, horribly wrong.

Re: How much heat?

They're all different aren't they? When we're exercising and I stop at a creek my bluetick might go take a couple laps even if she's really heated up. My Plott will wade right in and swim around drinking and just lay in the water til i call him out. Just for something more to read we think we hit th...

How much heat?

Hey guys i just wondered how much heat you all are comfortable running your dogs in? Type of hunting doesn't really matter I'd even be interested to hear what a bird hunter says. The guys I run bear with start to get worried about 77* but we usually have really high humidity in the morning to go alo...

Re: Breeding emphasis

I don't have anything intelligent to add but feel compelled to say that reading this thread has convinced me that I don't have a clue how much I don't know about dogs. Hopefully I'm able to do it long enough to get half the experience of you guys. Thanks for putting these insights out there. Sent fr...

Kidney failure

I don't know what your hunting schedule is but another thing I'll add is that dogs that get running really hard just every once in a while might be shy higher risk. If a dog has a lot of drive but they don't run all the time they will damage and break down a lot of muscle when they do run hard. One ...

Re: Maybe a dumb question...

I never noticed it until I built a new winter kennel this year. Now my 3 are right next to each other. I have to dump food then stay out there until they’re done because I have to move their heated water bowls back to where they can reach. It’s just nice to sit there and listen to them and not do an...

Maybe a dumb question...

But does anybody else really enjoy listening to their dogs eat?

Argentinian Dogo. Big white dogs, I know a lot of people use them as catch dogs for hogs. Originally bred for puma in South America.

Anybody using dogos on bear?

Really just pure curiosity here. Wondered if anybody throws a dogo in at the end of a race to try to force a tree? I know they have the physical tools to force the issue but I can foresee them getting smoked if they are going to actually try to go toe to toe and "catch" a bear. Has anyone ...

LED light bar brands

What are people using these days for LED light bars? I did find one old thread but wondering if there's anything new. I don't have a lot of money to spend but also don't want just the cheapest cheapo

God bless,
Tim

How did you come to hunt the dogs you hunt?

I forgot to mention that Plott I like can't cold trail to save his life right now. That's what I'll be looking for and working on.

How did you come to hunt the dogs you hunt?

My story is pretty short and probably not what you're looking for but I'm going to jump in so I can keep track of this conversation. I have 3 dogs right now plus three house dog. All of them were freebies and one I could never have afforded. I grew up hunting coyotes and used to have a running dog t...
