There is an article in Montana Magazine this month covering bear hunting. It talks about when Montana changed the laws and named Black bear a Game animal. They out lawed chasing with hounds and shooting from a bait pile in 1923..

Re: Bear in Montana with hounds????
Good Work that looks great.
I will see if I can pull out my mulligan with Governer Sweitzer. A few years ago he learned my name as a result of using me for some political pawnery. (leave out the politics please I work for the guy!!) (I did get a buffalo tag out of the deal) The last time I talked ...

Re: Bloodhound as a cat dog?
Don't listen to any of the discouragement that you will get from people. I had a bloodhound male for a while and he was awesome he didn't ever get aggressive with any of the other dogs he was around. Unfortunatly I did not hunt my blood... If you have a Female blood I wouldn't be too worried her ...

Blood Hounds + Hunting = ???
Anyone out there hunt with bloodhounds. I know that they would have one heck of a nose the last blood I had was smarter than any dog I have had since I just never hunted him. I have read stories about "dead cat dogs" in Africa will run a track so old the cats already dead. Cheeta will supposedly run ...

Re: Dogtra
I was just getting started this spring and went through the same questions you have now. I was going to buy the Sport god 3200 I thought it was going to be the equivilant...I then realized that it wasn't much more to get one of the new G3's (GunDogSupply.com Or and Scheels sporting goods). I know ...

Re: Anyone Feed Their Dogs Bear Meat?
Just for the Crappy ironic salt on the wound from the state of Montana where you can't hunt bear with dogs. The state allows you to turn the bear meat into dog food and when you get your bear checked they even have you take a questionare first question "will this meat be used for 1) Human ...

Re: MN 10 repair
Great company to work with 65-75$ for most repairs and they recalibrate and retune the unit before they return it. About a two week turn around

Re: Favorite Pistol
I carry a Ruger Alaskan .454 Casull because I am afraid of Sasquach. The 2 inch barrel is easy to carry and since I was threatened by another houndsman that he would "pull me out of my truck and beat my ass if he cought me up where he was hunting". I hope that the presence of a real peace maker will ...

Has anyone used The Buzzard Roost????
I figured it would be a good idea to first check to see if anyone has had any luck, good or bad with this company. They want $65 to rebuild a collar with a new battery, collar, and antenna.

Re: Trapping Mt. Lion
I second that, I accidentally trapped a Lion this winter (He Broke loose) but I was using bobcat gland and some beaver meat with some poly-fill as an attractant. It does not matter what kind of cat it is they are all like a house cat in some way!!
