Re: Dummie collars

4 inch piece of 2x2 bolted on a regular collar. I put the nut side on the inside of the collar with a little bit of bolt coming through the nut. This simulates the prongs on the shock collars. It works for me!!!!!
Rick

PS I use a 1/4 inch bolt.

Re: Any hound hunters in delta, ut

I see someone is taking my name in vain. Thanks Mike!!!! Yep I live in the area, and there are a few of us idiots around. Winston Snow lives in Oak City Too. The Oak City Mountains use to be good hunting, but they have over havested it. Funny thing is the deer numbers have droped too, go figure ...

Re: South West Manti emergency closure

Dewey,
Right you are, MAN does have the biggest impact. There have been a lot of changes since the 60's more freeways and roads, more homes in prime winter range. Deer hunting has changed too, from more powerfull guns and optics and everyone owning 4 wheel drives and atvs. When I was a kid in the 60 ...

Re: South West Manti emergency closure

Dewey,
15 years ago there where a lot of lions. Numbers in all units where great and some dandy toms could be harvested. The deer numbers kept dropping so the kill the lion was the word everyone spoke. They started the harvest objective, and anything that would climb a tree was killed. Some of the ...

Re: South West Manti emergency closure

I'm with you guys on this!!! The lumping of units together is a complete bust and is a poor way of managing wildlife. There is no doupt that the goal of the wildlife board is to totaly eliminate the lion population. The areas that are easily accessible are being hammered to death. One of the things ...

Re: "sfw" Montana WOW!!

I was one of the first members of SFW, and helped with some banquets around here. Not anymore!!!! All they care about is money, and they are more worried about sheep and goats than deer.
There whole solution to get the deer back was to kill as many lions as possible.

Yep they have really made a ...

Re: Barley straw for besdibg

Barley straw works fine, I use it when I don't have any grass hay. The straw seems to crush more easily. Sounds like you will have a good supply of it, so don't be afraid to use it.

Re: Big game hunt with mules?

That is the only way I hunt anymore. I use to drive a few roads and look for tracks that way, but I have alays enjoyed being on my mule or horse. It is the only way to hunt for me. I'm sure that road hunters catch more lions than I do, but I sure get to watch the hounds work. Let me know if your ...

Your trying to get help from the most ego driven people in Utah. Oh did I mention hard headed, foul mouthed, self centered, bunch of people you have been around.

I live a ways from you, but if you want to call I can give you some hints that will screw you up as bad.

I'll be up your way today ...
