hi all, a friend gave me a wildlife materials receiver called "the merlin". 1980's manufacture i think. anyone else use one?. it tracks collars between 217.150 and 217.200. im just curios what ya think of it if you have or had one. i like it way better than my r-400. for me its easier to fine tune ...

hi, my hound ripped out a toenail Saturday while running a coyote. the whole nail is gone just a red nubblin left there on the end of the toe, she walks on it but it does obviously hurt her when she stubs it on anything. wasnt bleeding, just looks tender. i was wondering how long in took for a nail ...

ive seen a few hounds that dont bark up good if there not in the lead.ive one that is pretty silent on the cold trail but when he gets enough scent he does open and barks like a machine gun when driving. i had a hound that barked a little then quit all together. took him out alone and he drove 4-5 ...

how old are your pups?? just keep taking them and cutting them to the run eventually they will go in. also you could run them in a coyote pen, after a bit they should start a yote and run it. also you can walk them on tracks in the snow. cant really expect a 5mos pup to join in and run all day like ...

thank you all for the time and info. my boy has decided to try him on coyote, red is approx 40lb. not a big dog tall an lean, he may muscle up im not sure. he from a bear line not sure about the fight.about the only time i see coyotes caught they are wounded, most times there's several hounds on ...

sounds like the same risk's either way. it was my sons idea to try cats after i showed him tracks just happened to find pups for sale close to his birthday. i love to hunt so the idea sounded fine to me. im gonna let him choose , i figure its his dog its his choice. this way i can tell him good info ...

and about the porkypine lol ive pulled enough quills to make a quilt lol. i shot so many of them darn things omg. i wrap the dog up in an old blaket, sit on him an cut the quill they pull easy that way. probly u knew that trick anyhow.

thanks for the reply emily, ive been running beagles an hounds for quite a few years im up on the dangers. road kills ect. ive only ever seen coyote chace a hound at nite. i just wondered if cats were more apt to fight. i mostly shoot the yote before the dog gets there, some dogs will fly right in ...
