Re: Immigration-Discrimination

Big Horn Posse, I won't go into what I think about the issue, but your statement "I am sure we would have less trouble with illegal immigration if getting a work visa here was as easy as it is for someone to get welfare" is a very good one. A lot come to work, some come for welfare,or don't have ...

Re: what does good mean to you????

If behind the pickup works for you then do it, sound like you have a great handle on your dog. I won't let mine do that because I am afraid I would run one over, I know it can happen, so they stay in front.

Re: Wolves near imnaha oregon!!!

Oregon's best line of defense has always been Wallowa County, but just like a shot gun there is power in numbers. Just a really sad deal.

Re: Tracks Describe the Animal...

"Haven't seen too many bobcat tracks, but come across the odd lynx track. Mind you it could be an otter for all I know " Ya I know sounds pretty stupid, and looking back find it funny, but it was my first year out running dogs and I knew they weren't quite right but I gave them a go and that is ...

Re: Tracks Describe the Animal...

Have seen a few cat tracks that didn't follow the typical line for long periods. I was first fooled by a river otter in real light snow, so I was a nay sayer when I saw tracks similar to that. But after just about a fist fight with my brother and my friend I turned loose on a set about like that ...

Great idea Ike! Make a video, we can't change that lady's opinions, but it doesn't matter, the public is who counts.

Re: Word of caution on horses mules and dogs.

No, mostly hurt my pride. Never had my picture taken going off a horse, most of those were preventable though. A few things I have learned the hard way are:
Not getting a young horse use to a back cinch before hopping on.
Not gettting a young horse use to saddle bags or reaching back into the bags ...

Re: Word of caution on horses mules and dogs.

You know you can never be too careful, even a well thought out plan can turn sour. :D
This was just one of those lessons.

Re: Good hunting boots

I think the more expensive lines of danners are still made in Oregon but the cheaper models are built across seas. At least that was the case a few years ago. To me they are extremely comfortable right out of the box but they don't last real long under heavy use.

Re: leopard cur/catahoula

Doggie is right, and Randy may talk your ear off but you wont get tired of listening. I own leopard curs, I have been around catahoulas my whole life and since the split from alcba I have seen pictures of leopard hounds. I know they are different but if you want the real answer call Randy.

Re: annual meeting

Hey, I think that would be pretty neat. I also think that if we could make it an organization of some kind it may benefit all us. It is not a new concept and it seems to work. Heck their could be a trade show, with sponsors maybe, and talks and presentations from people, maybe some awards for ...

Re: Dual pupose cat dogs?

Well a dog is a dog and they are all different, just like people. I was talking with a friend of mine the other day and he brought up a good point, a lot of dogs are capable of being bobcat dogs. It is a lot harder to make a bobcat dog out of a dog who started running bears or lions. If the dog ...

Re: People just don't know

That just made me bust up laughing! I don't know how many cow dogs I have been bit by and I really do like cow dogs, especially ones that are used for what they are breed for, but I have yet to be bitten by a hunting dog of any breed and I a have owned more of them them than cow dogs. An yes blue or ...

Re: magnum tracking

I haven't owned a magnum receiver, but have heard good things, especially the MT8000. I do use magnum collars and really like them, excellent range and easier to pinpoint than some others. I did have one magnum collar go bad after 8 months, sent in back and got a new one free. If you pay attention ...
