Re: New tracking system what would you recommend?
I have a mt8000 and love it, I have some old 150-151 collars along with 217 collars. As of ease you just program all your collars in and just scroll to the one you want to track, I have mine entered by dogs name and just go to the dog you want to track.

Re: cur dogs on Bear
I had a mt.cur gyp that was a good pack dog with lots of grit so I decided to cross her with my sons bluetick and they turned out to be track running machines, alot colder nosed than their mother but has her grit, not afraid of a mean bear.

Re: hunting without tracking collars
I've hunted both ways and prefer using trackers, when running bear your dogs usually end up far from where you turn loose. My dogs will come out to someones house eventually but you never know what kind of people might live there so I like to recover them as soon as possible.

Re: sport dog gps????
the shocker on the sportdog just attaches to the collar, it can be removed if needed or you can buy it seperate and add later. marshall is coming out with a gps with telemetry combined in case your dog doesnt have a girraffe neck.

Re: sport dog gps????
the shocker can be removed, it just fasten's to the gps collar in which if it goes bad just take it off for repair or you can buy it later and add to your collar. Marshall is coming out with a gps that has telemetry built in with their gps collar so you dont have a dog with a host of collars on his ...

I also have a dog that if there is more than 4 or 5 dogs at the tree he leaves and goes hunting again as if to say you dont need me ...
