Re: fox hunting withe terriers
Cooch, Those are some outstanding pics. I myself hunt the little Jacks. Best earth dog breed there is in my opinion. Some things are nice about the jagd dogs but they just have to much leg and to large of chest circumference to work a hole with most Fox in it. It can be done for sure, but lots of ...

Re: what type of dog do you need for holes
If your gonna send a dog in the hole it has to be a dog thats breed to go in a hole and know how to work whatever is in there without getting tore up and either making it break from an escape hole or you gotta dig to it. A beagle, hound, curr, airdale any of these dogs will NOT work. Some people may ...

Re: Hollow trees
Yup time to call in the small dogs! My smallest Jack Russell is a female and she will climb most any tree but if she cant I just toss her up there and she catches a limb and finds the hole. It works well. Good luck!

Re: Jagds Patterdales terriers and the like
Not Jags or Patterdales, But we use Jack Russell Terriers to hunt just about anything with fur. Its great and dogs are easier for my young boys to handle. We use to hunt walker dogs & Currs but have switched to these small terriers and cant imagine hunting with anything else.

Digger on second coon after pulling it from atleast a six foot underground shaft. This young male is very aggresive and powerful underground.

Re: coon feeders?
I use a tire with the wheel still mounted up. Use a 2inch hole saw drill bit and drill atleast 4 holes around the side wall or more and then use a big funnel and fill tire with corn. I drive a Tpost in the ground in the center of the wheel to keep pigs from flipping the tire and about the only thing ...

Re: jagdterrier for coons
I use Jack Russell Terriers to hunt coon, opossum, squirrells on tree. Also hunt them in the dirt with badger and fox. I believe the jagdterrier will for sure hunt coon but I wouldnt cross it with a hound.

Re: terriors
Hey I started using Jack Russells to dirt hole and brush pile hunt myself just this year. Yes they will go in after anything you want them to, and bring it out. Or throw them up a tree and they will go inside a den tree as well. Its great, to everyone who says "let the coon win" well this is true we ...
