Very Nice! I am glad the season went well for you. Those lynx would make a sweet coat, the fur looks so soft and warm.

Re: New proposed AZ lion/bobcat law

Hey Guys, Sorry about the hiatus there over the past couple days, but I have been following this bill pretty closely and I agree with what has been said above. It looks like the bill is going to fail as it is currently worded but it is definitely not going away. The Arizona Coonhound Association and...

Re: New proposed AZ lion/bobcat law

Guys, We can all agree that this law is being proposed not on a basis of scientific fact but on a loaded basis for a dislike of hunting. Unfortunately though just knowing that does us no good. Although these representatives do not read these emails or answer phone calls directly, they still listen. ...

Re: !!!AZ Bobcat and Lion Being Reclassified as Protected!!!

Well ddg guess its time to rally your club members and do some outreach to sympathetic groups. These guys don't have the slightest clue to actual numbers or any other facts regarding these species I was kinda laughing to myself at the timing of this one too. But we have a meeting this Saturday and ...

Re: !!!AZ Bobcat and Lion Being Reclassified as Protected!!!

Here is the email that I just sent to both Senator Farley and my own Senator. Feel free to copy and paste. Good Afternoon Senator Farley, I was recently informed of a piece of legislation that you have introduced intending to reclassify Arizona’s population of Bobcats and Mountain Lions as a protect...

!!!AZ Bobcat and Lion Being Reclassified as Protected!!!

Arizona is the next state in the crosshairs folks and we need your support! State Senator Steve Farley has introduced SB-1182 to reclassify the Bobcat and Mountain Lion as protected species. It is time to get to the phones and emails and let your senator know that you do not support this. Call your ...

And they are coming after it here in AZ now. SB-1182 is being proposed to put bobcat and lion on a protected species list. I am going to start another thread for that though, it is too important to get missed.

Re: Let's talk Hound Clubs

If your local houndsman just look at bringing a dog or two to your events not as a great training tool but as a great way to support our great sport then it's a win for houndsman. As long as every race is closely monitored there isn't much risk of ruining a dog. I would agree with you here Beebout,...

Re: Let's talk Hound Clubs

Thanks for the reply Pegleg. I thought I noticed a bit of a divide between the "houndsmen" and the "hound enthusiasts" but I wasn't sure. But I can see what you mean. The hound clubs really cater more so to the show dog side of things, and a show dog isn't worth much in the woods...

Let's talk Hound Clubs

Hi Guys, If you have seen any of my previous posts you know that I am a relative noob in the hound world. I am also a bit of a transient moving just about once a year it seems. Every time I show up in a new city or state or country the issues that I face are the same. I don't know anyone, and I don'...

Re: Poor man's tracking collar

I know of a few guys up in Canada who use bells on their dogs. They say they think it helps keep the wolves away, but I have no way of confirming that.

My dogs have some pretty jingly dog tags on their collars which I like. It acts sort of like a bell and makes it a bit easier to keep tabs on them.
