Re: Bobcat Dog book on YouTube
Hey Mic, that is an awesome thought. If I ever get out there again, I will find out if that would be possible. I heard your name mentioned in my last video. It was praises for your perception from thinking about what is actually going on. There are some secrets even there in the video for that type ...

Re: Bobcat Dog book on YouTube
What Dave you are not going to publish anything more on YouTube. I sure hope that’s not the case I enjoy listening to the book and the other things you have on there. Ok! I put up a hunt with Dewey. When it took 13 hours to upload I says to myself “this is the last video” ...Again. But my favorite ...

Re: Suggestions for a hunting/ranch/kids dog
Merry Christmas David. Sure you fired up, good for the heart. Actually I liked Dewey/s post comparing curs to hounds, much better than yours. However, think leopards are now considered hounds. I would bet if one knew the linage behind those great curs you speak of there is a hound in the woodpile. ...

Re: Coon Hunting
It’s hard, but we hunted without those collars a lot longer than we have hunted with them. I made sure I had a real good easy to read name plate with phone numbers on it. And I used a bell on my dogs And did my best to stay with them. The bells were designed for sheep I think and I could find them a...

Re: Suggestions for a hunting/ranch/kids dog
Cordell, this is a description of a coon hunt with two good hounds and a cur dog. Cast all three and the hounds get in the dark and stay there until a good track is found. The cur will leave with them but will be back shortly... David, you should write fiction novels. But you are entertaining. Al I...

Re: Split Race
This is interesting because pup almost went with silent dog on gps but turned back to cold nosed bawl mouth. Makes sense. Right there your pup probably had a monster opportunity to haze a jumped/lined out bobcat with a potential bobcat catching dog. Your cold tracker took that opportunity away from...

Re: Split Race
As far as the pup goes it’s just good to hear him trailing and running to the race at 8 months. But I could see how the cold nosed dog cold be teaching him bad habits by going over the same track over and over. Yes. You are right. This is something to be very concerned about for your pup. It is ver...

Re: Split Race
Im obviously missing something and probably will continue to. There seems to be alot of favor for silent dogs. Pegleg, how bad do you want to see some good silent dogs? Are you willing to travel? I am not putting a value for or against silent dogs. Nor am I putting a value on cold nosed dogs that m...

Re: Split Race
Just a quick thought. If you put a bell on that silent dog, I think your pup might have enough sense to actually pay attention to that bell. Possibly even the cold tracker, but not as likely. Those good cold trackers sometimes loose themselves in their own world. That dog might still be working that...

Re: Split Race
That was an awesome story. Write some more of them when you have them!! Your style is so much like mine was. 2 dogs, and one apprentice. I might have done exactly what you did in that situation. And then when I didn’t catch the cat, I would analyze the race for weeks so that I could hopefully do bet...

Re: Video I happened across
Man there is a lot to be learned from that. He says “get in” like me. Lol. He also says “get out”. Key word “get”(Git). Not a sound out of his dogs in the box listening to the race. It sure showed a graphic example of what can happen when a fox (cat) comes into the road and runs the road a tiny bit....
