I know I'm slow and might have missed this but does anybody have any hands on experience with this?
Any actual competition for/with garmin would be GREAT.
BuddyW or anyone else.. Quick Track Omni?

Re: BuddyW or anyone else.. Quick Track Omni?
We just got some in to test two days ago. We are in the process of testing them now.
Have not gotten the cellar part to work yet.

10-4. Hopefully someone comes up with something reliable to give garmin some legitimate competition.

Yes It would be nice. I don't think this is going to be the system. Lot's of issues.
I didn't trust it enough to run it on dogs yet, So for most of the time I left them in the Bed of my truck turned on. After a few hours testing to make sure they didn't interfere with Garmin's collars I put a collar on a pup to start letting them get away from me some. I never had a good race where the dogs got more than 400 yards away today so I haven't been able to test any real distance.
But it's not a smooth Glitch free system. They could have spent some more time having these devices in field testers hands.
I've had to re-pair the device about 20-30 times hunting today (I only hunted the morning),
The maps wouldn't let me zoom in and see anything below 5 miles so essentially It had no maps.
From what I understand and have learned No TOPO maps only Google Satellite maps, I think it would have Road maps also but I doubt it has any of the road that would be helpful to me in the timber.
It was showing the collar 1.1 miles away when I pulled back in my drive, I had to reset and re-pair again to get it to show on the collar.
One of the collars turned off at 15% Battery life and will not turn back on, so when you see 20% battery I'm guessing it's not really 20%.
Have not gotten it to switch to cell mode yet,
On the good side, The collar did track for the full day and they did work.
I'll be testing them allot more and doing a full write up on them soon. It's better than our experience with the Sport Dog TEK2 but it's no where near comparable to Garmin's reliability and ease of use.
