sub zero squirrel hunt with my West Siberian Laika
sub zero squirrel hunt with my West Siberian Laika
I imported this pup from Omsk, Russia. He just turned a year in the end of Dec. Six trees five squirrels. Little fellow is making good progress. Should make a good line for my future Laikas.

With a coat like that, I bet sub zero is just about right.
Would love to read about your story.
Keep us posted on his progress.
Did he have an empty tree?
Thank you.

No one den tree. I write a monthly column in Full Cry about Laikas. I hunt them on squirrel, coon, and game birds. They are not for everyone butI enjoy a versatile dog and they fit my hunting style.

I know the finish spitz tree bark on grouse and a turkey like bird. What do your dogs do with a sitting pheasant? Just automatically flush it? Tree bark?

You can put all the articles you want right here. I am sure I would not be the only one reading them.
I bet the pay would be similar. In fact if the pay is what I think it is, we can give you ten times that.

Importing one is tricky because you have to get treeing Laikas not the type being used on moose and boar. I was fortunate to have contacts to help me. Many of the people I talk to over in Europe know I hunt a lot so when I good breeder had someone back out they immediately got in touch with me to buy him. If you want a good Laika let me know there is a breeder in CA that just moved from the Ukraine and I have a female out of his stuff and she is a good dog. It would give you fresh blood but not the hassle. It was stressful waiting to make sure my dog got here. If you tell me exactly what you were going to hunt I can help you get the right line.

No I'm not looking for one, Just thought it would be a good read. That's about all I can do for awhile as I'm laid up after falling off a bluff the other night going to a fox tree, and sitting here going crazy.

Jeff what the heck did you do that for? Maybe this will make a day hunter out of you. Hope you are up and going soon. One of these days I would like to see your curs run. Dewey
