thats a dandy!!
Re: big coyote
That is a nice one, we usually end up with a handful over fifty but not every year, a few years ago we caught 30 with quills on average one or two as season will try a pork dinner. No huge coyotes that year

Re: big coyote
I wont live to see a 50 pound coyote in these parts. I have a buddy about 4 hours east of me that caught a 44 pounder once but only once. I haven't caught a handful of coyotes over 40 in my life and Ive caught to many to count.
Re: big coyote
Our fur quality is poor though only about one in ten is top grade and still about half as valuable as the westerns the rest are hardly worth skinning in this finicky market. Other than that exceptional cat which may bring 100 bucks for taxidermy, 40 to fifty is all we will see from our average cats

Re: big coyote
We are in the same boat but Id say bout only 1 out of 20 in my area. All of our coyotes are red with black hairs across their back. Terrible lookin coyotes.
This big fella will prolly be one of the better colored ones I catch all year. Most of them are way darker red through the legs and have like a black back sorta.
