Wimpy...

His feet are improving as well. He was very soft footed when he came down here... the first few hunts he was so sore at the end of the day he could hardly get out of the dog box to get in the kennel, but he's doing so much better now. His feet will toughen up even more as soon as it really starts to dry out... (we've had rain lately)

His mouth isn't very good. He's got a very high pitched squeely mouth, but it carries VERY far! I was able to hear him just as well as our loudest dog on Saturday. It's very unique, and there's no question when Hondo's barking.. He loves to eat prickly pear cactus too..

Hondo is out of Sampson and Millie. He is a littermate to my Sammy Joe, and Jeff Allen's Ace, and Steve Galentine's Jasper dog. I also think the Newt dog is from the same cross. As Tyler said Hondo's mouth isn't very pretty but you can hear it. Most of the littermates have that mouth but Sammy has a long loud Tenor bawl that really has that calling on the end of it. I had a cat in the bluffs Saturday and the hearing wasn't very good in there and I could hear her above all the other hounds and some of them like my two Topper males I would call extra loud mouthed.

Those are some super bad ass pics buddy! Great job and superb catch. The dogs look great. That lion on the Saguaro is a wall hanger bro!

Take care.

There are 3 redticks...

1 of them (Cedar) has no special blood... she's a great dog though.

Siren and Cash are Dieringer blood.

Mason, thanks!

kwalker, I live in benson, and we mainly hunt in the southeastern quarter of the state, however we've ventured up your way a time or two... I grew up in Snowflake, so I still have family and friends up there that we hunt with every now and again...

The Saguaro lion picture is pretty cool, I agree... once the dogs were tied and we pulled them back a little bit, it didn't take long for him to bail out and haul butt outta there, shaking his paws the whole way...

Do the cats get thorns in their paws from the cactus? How about the dogs do the tree with their feet up on the cactus like on a tree?
