Dry Ground dogs vrs. Running dogs question

may be related to hounds maybe not was readin a article about police dog scenting abilitieys they have three types of dogs tracking trailing air scenting sound familiar well the thing that was interesting was dogs scent ground distrbance when you or a cat walk in dirt or grass you move the upper soil and kick up the soil that was slightly buried that dirt has a different odor differint bacteria different propertys than the soil on top the dog notices the difference between that and the surrounding area if there is grass the vegitation is broke crushed smell different the the grass surrounding the foot print the animal is also droppingskin cells etc austrians did a test they had a guy walk on grass then raise the guy 15 ft for a few hundred yard with turns a 150 lb wheel with mechical feet completed the walk the dogs followed the track by ground disturbance and could be trained to notice up to 20 percent weight change in the tracks meaning not the right track they started some dogs air scent in city concrete conditions i think dry ground hounds are scenting ground disturbance like dna its there

also as you close the gap every thing magnifys the the air going in and out of the animals lungs is like a chimney makeing more scent dry ground vs forest or snow might not be harder or easyer you need a dog that is used to the conditions and scent the track disturbance compared to the surrounding area hey cant we all chip in and send afew of the best dry ground dogs north and the few northen dogs south for a few weeks i got a twenty to burn sure would put a end to a century long question now to figure out how the deer by me know how to read they cross the road right at the deer crossing sign a few more drinks i will figure it out LoL
