That has always been a trait in the Little Topper bred Nance dogs like Samson they have a good cold trail nose but they don't love a track so much they hang up. They will wheel and cut and slash and grab it again and go on and catch. Now don't get me wrong I love them trail stickers and trail holders but I like them to do it all if they can but if they can't we combo up and go get em. Samson and Topper Again have put a lot of dogs on the ground that can do it all but one thing for sure they do is when a track gets up they get gone.

Jeff Allen told me one time that it was sort of frustrating seeing Topper Again wind up a cold track drive it with the best of them on the cold long end and then just like Secretariat start pulling away from some really fast track dogs and see him go flying across the face of the mountain way out there ahead and catch. I know a lot of the Samson dogs are the same way. I have two Topper Agains as well and I really like them as well. But I still like a combo and the old line dogs are just so tough and easy to handle and versatile they still own my heart.

It has been my experience on a hard dry track especially when its hot, that slow and steady is more successful. But we all like to see those dogs move a track fast. I think I'll talk to Lloyd next time Jiggs comes into heat and try breading her to Cumo one more time. Is there any more females out of your Jiggs out there having pups now? John Childs dogs is actually a male that he neutured, he calls him Jack and has made quite a name for himself as a bear dog. Is the Jiggs line coming to an end?

Chris Todd in Arizona has some females out of Jiggs which he really like on desert lions. You can look up his web page and contact him. My mistake on John's dog I for some reason thought it was a male. There are also some Jiggs dogs down in old Mexico.

I got a male pup out of your jiggs and Lloyds female cross Mike. Bo turned 5 June 25 of this year. He does have a nose to him and likes to grind a track till his nose bleeds. Lol
If your going to find tracks you better make tracks!
