I use the same dogs but have had problems getting dogs to slow down and grind out hard tracks after they have been blown and go'n on bears. I have seen some dogs that can go back and forth with out problem and were some on the best dry ground lion hounds that i have ever been around. Lines of course have something to do with it.
I have always felt that if a dog learns how to cold trail first then making the transition to bears doesnt negitively affect them. If a young dog learns the heads up style blow and go bear chase first then its much harder to get them to transition to a slow grinding out cold trail of a lion
