Brianshounds,
Are you really suggesting that we allow these problem lions run free so that we can get more opportunities to hunt cougar? Seems to me that maybe your priorities are misplaced. To me, it makes sense that our first responsibility is to keep our/their children safe first then fight for more hunting rights.

Thanks guys, I didn't even care to get credit or anything, I just wanted the dog to be recognized, I've also refused the photo's for the AP because they didn't mention the dog at all so I told them they couldn't use my photo. never Got a reply back from them.

My only goal was to try and Get some Good PR for hounds and more importantly hopefully the New Hound Bill next legislation and drum up alittle support for it.. Although reading this story the Author chopped up my words and I'm sure that I didn't explain my thoughts well enough so in the end only a Houndsmen got the message I was trying to give.. Maybe BGH needs a Public relations person to give statements to the media.. Because I sure as hell suck at it..

Dewey, I keep trying to figure out what and why she didn't open, I wonder if there was a nother dog with her and they might have amped each other up some, or maybe if she was off leash and able to go where ever she wanted to range more line it out and figure out the direction.. I just don't know, But I could tell by her body language that she was tracking and Trailing it and it was a Cold Track, there was also a time where I even said She's winding the track (little Did I know she was probably winding the cats).

Best part of the story was, I got home later that night after work and my wife explained that the Neighbor that brought the dog to the location. Well When she got home to return the dog she told my wife pretty much the dog didn't do anything.. :D We just walked up and seen the cat in the tree... I get a chuckle out of it because maybe that's what happened and I was just Lucky.. But I was kinda proud of the dog whisper stuff that me and Penny were doing ..She Was telling me a heck of allot (at least in my little head she was), I was in the "moment" could tell she was winding, and she shown me some scat and a single Track before it crossed the blacktop. All without Barking once. It was team work with me trying to think like a cat, and try and figure out where she could get a good Smell since where the guy spotted the cat was walking down Asphault and that wasn't Getting us very far. So anyways, I can try to elaborate and spin it and explain the magic all I want, but the Real story from the eye witnesses is I just Got Lucky and looked up the right tree at the right time.. :beer

Ah hell.. Screw it Let's just go with that one News story they said it was the VA doctor looked out the window and seen the cat in the tree and Called WDFW so they came and Darted it. No dogs were even there.... That's good enough :D

It was a good Monday, and sure beat sitting at work monday morning.

Buddyw, i have owned many dogs that wouldnt open on a track if they where on a leash, I had to judge the track by how hard they wanted to take it and how hard they pulled.. i liked them kind of dogs better then the ones that just bark there head off no matter how little scent they could smell. I own some dogs now that will only give you a couple barks if a bear strike is good and nothing at all when my younger dogs are barking madd because they got a little wisper of scent. But the thing i like about tight lipt dogs, is when you do get a good couple barkes out of them, you know its go time.
