Great lion guys!

Say take extra good care of that skull and don't boil it take it to a beatle guy to get it cleaned for measurement. There are two sources of beetles in your area near Durango.

There was a potential new Colorado record lion taken yesterday who just could push the US record very hard and they also will be taking it to be cleaned by beetles rather than boiling. It would be amazing if we have a new New Mexico and Colorado record lions taken within just a few dasy of each other!

Yes congrats on a great cat, but in your story you mentioned that you used your garmin receiver so maybe for state records it doesnt matter but for B.C. technacily it cant be entered.
Appreciate the cat for what it is, the great hunt you had and the many years he gave you looking for and thinking of him.

I know they were on the dogs which they are allowed but you mentioned you used the receiver which according to boone/crockett is not allowed, if you want to enter it in the record book.
Nothing illegal or anything like that, just a boone/crockett rule for entering purposes, no electronic devices to be used. (have to go to there web site for exact wording).
Like I mentioned before looks like a great cat, you had a great hunt and sounds like a pile of memorys from him and from the times leading up to when you first found his track. Respect all that, worth way more then a name in a book, but just my opinion.
Hopefully he passed his genes around so you can get more runs in from his offspring.
