C. John I do make sure all my dogs have Ecollars on each hunting trip. I also use caution when correcting. Surely one must let the dogs have time to sort out a loose before using the ecollar. Sometimes the cat will travel a road a long ways. Just saying must realize most young hunters have not hunted thier pack as long as Mr. Finney. Of coarse if one of the leaders have found the track, while others are running down the road would not hesitate to stop them. Have had a few close track dogs that were masters at moviNg a loose slowly for a long ways. as soon as the cat hit the brush pack ran the track like loose never happen. One of the best dogs I ever seen at taking such cat down a road was a registered blue, coonhound bred as could be. ordered from Mississippi as a pup. Rowdy, was owned by my Friend Wayne, & treed numerous cat by himself, in some rough bluffy terrain. He met his fate when pursuring a bob by falling off a bluff. Wayne had no fear and turned rowdy down night or day in some areas that scared me. Al Baldwin Just my experience & thoughts. Thanks Al Baldwin
