Re: confused. any ideas
we just had a similar issue with a real reliable female. she was doing a lot of things that were not normal for her. We left her home for a few weekends, fattened her up a bit and let her get rest. She is back to her self, sometimes they just need some time off. Good luck!

Re: confused. any ideas
Well not sure what did it but yesterday I went out and took my male with me that stoped hunting just because my female was in heat so I figured I would take him this last time and if no change I was debating a long lay up for the dog I had left him in the box on the last 4trees so I put him out and roaded him with another dog they started track and he ran it great and treed good witch he had always been a little week on tree so then I decided I was gonna road him with my new dog chase to see if he would hunt with him since I figured the issue was him not getting along with the new dog but they bailed off the road together and after about an hour and a half they fell treed and I can here my mail treeing about as hard as I have ever heard him tree I hiked in petted him up real good took a few pictures and headed out not sure what it was exactly that made him want to hunt again but I appreciate all the advice from you guys on here it has been very helpful I tried to post pictures on here but after about a half dozen failed attempts I gave up I mite just have to have my wife see if she can post some pictures for me. Happy hunting and thanks for the help

Well thats good news. We dont always know what happens out in the woods. The dog may have had a run in with a trap that spoked him, a limb may have fell out and clobbered him, a nasty fall or he could have mistakenly got himself inbetween a momma elk and calf and got himself worked over. The possibilities are endless, but could have a lasting effect. Have fun, and good hunting. John.
