sparks, I got two words for ya. "hook" and "thunder". just put oscar on with them and let em learn. the coon setup works very well also. that is how I started with thunder. we even went as far as to dress a kid up in a bear suit with bear piss all over it. he walked across the road and down the canyon half a mile and treed. took us a couple of passes before the wind was right, but when they rigged we dumped and they were treein when we got there, the kid said he almost got stretched.lol also if things work out this spring you might get to keep sally for the first month of bear season. she is a solid rig dog and will teach oscar and snooks alot about striking.......
"Houndn'Ems Blueticks" if it smells like a cat, they'll catch it.

If you have some young dogs that will run bear, they will strike bear. If you have enough bear where you hunt, just drive around and don't turn them loose unless you see a track, and then make sure you get them going the right way, as in set them off the box and physically point them the right way. Make sure you never tune on them unless you know they are striking trash. The leash method works if you trust that they are smelling bear but cant find a track. Once you have ran some bear with them by themselves, with no outside help, you will know by the barks if they are smelling a bear or trashing.
