Dan,

You do have a dog in this fight and its name is ratings. No matter what, you are going to do what you think you need to do to win. You might think that your presenting both sides of a story but you are doing it very biasedly and ignorantly in my opinion. You say that you can't ignore what they say but you sure have ignored me when I have sent you links to humanewatch and facts about the lies of the HSUS. It seems to me that you have been ignoring the facts and running with whatever lies will make the better story. Investigative reporting is something that channel 7 and you must not give a damn about.
One last question Mr. Noyes, and i know you will not answer it. How much money did the HSUS pay, or donate, or accidentally drop off to you some how? The only common sense explanation for having someone report as many lies as you already have is if they are getting paid to do it.

Guys.

I just phoned all on DaleT's list....100% open phone lines and only took about 15 minutes to give them my opinion.....NOT ONE SINGLE BUSY LINE IN ANY OF THE SENATORS OFFICES....

You have a chance to make one phone call it would do me good to have you call Senator Roderick Wrights office....This one is over the top liberal and come back at me.....please make my day by calling her and explaing you oppose S.B.1221.

I give them Oregon's solution after banning sport hunters with hounds, Replaced by Hounds and snares....Government will manage for sustainability, one way or another....animals are going to die...it just makes better sense to have sport hunters over Government intervention!

Dan Noyes needs to work harder and make more money if this passes so he can support funding for the Government who will kill animals in the name of management if this does pass. I thought all the brain dead people left California and moved north to Oregon and Washington State.

Thanks DaleT for posting the numbers

at the next hearing do we get to speak agian. just wondering. at he last railroading the humane socity ladie said that withought hounding the fish and game would be able to do there jobs protecting the wildlife better because the wouldnt be running around chasing all of us bear and bobcat poachers, hence saving money for california. I know sombody that works for the police dept in auburn every time i see him he says that the pd has to go to lots of calls of a nusence bears. Now it may be to late to show costs i dont know but it you were to take all the rural police departments and get a list of man hrs and costs over a yr my guess is its a whole lot more than some dfg looking for bear pochers. Cadfg's job is to caught pochers, ca police dept's job is to catch twekers, if we could show the costs of the police having to mess with nucience bears while we can still hound you and i both know that it will be a whole lot more when we cant, hence costing ca pd more money than they have and man hrs that dont need to be spent shewing bears on an already spread thin force, when the could be catching bad guys. if theres any pd on here maybe you guys know if we can get that can of info and get it to the people that get to talk for us. or maybe mr noyes can do some investigative reporting. maybe im barking up the wrong tree like my hounds do but it was a thought. i tried to call my buddy but hes out of town for a week.

So when is the next hearing? Is it on the 14th or is that still a guess when it might be?

Is this the best place to get up to date info or is there somewhere else I should be checking? I didnt see a place on the chc website with updates.

I admit that Ive been a little out of the loop with regard to this topic. Im one of those hunt by yourself types so I dont always hear about new info till its too late. Although I do recognize the previous poster so I figured maybe this is the place to get info. We met in the woods last year toward the end of the season in December near a real bad hole.

I just want to make sure I get the time off to head over there for the hearing.

Thanks Mike,
what has happened in Oregon with your state paying to kill bears to control population instead of making money off the sale of tag is a model for what will happen in California if this thing passe's, but many times worst because of the over population of the fringes of the bear habitat, our depredation will go though the roof

Dale,

Our Game department is very articulate at keeping Our elected officials / citizens in the dark. My position is basic.....expose the facts to the entire State of Oregon and when the dust settles....

A. Do we want the State to hire the Federal Government to kill our cougar. Males, Females and Baby kittens and landfill them at sport hunter and tax payer expence or

B. Do we want to allow sport hunters to manage under the direction of fish and game while paying and generating a revenue.

Government hounds replaced sport hounds for cougar as a management tool....

You want the stat sheets for both bear and cougar send me your e-mail address....one of my stats shows ODFW sent a gift of our money of 100 thousand dollars to Usda to kill animals...and the dollar amounts keep adding up.

Oregonians just like Californians Can't tollerate hounds as they are an unethical form of management for black bears....but odfw claims since hound hunting was banned sport hunters can't kill enough bears so the replacement management tool of choice is the ankle catch mechanically fired snare set over rank baits....baiting is something even sport hunters are opposed to but....500 times worse and totally unethical compared to hounds....

The state has to use something to lure a bear to a cubby set....snares as you know could care less what they catch and each year dozens of baby cabs are whacked as they cling to the sows that are hung by the leg...not to mention the many non target animals such as dozens of cougars accidentally caught.....This shit replaced sport hounds? They doop, distort, spin the truth.... looks like an average of 500 plus bears die in a snare each year in Oregon.

You already have full time Usda agents hunting hounds...this passes your fish and game will hire dozens more Federal agents to tend to predation, as you know the problems you have now.....Your fish and game will ramp up just like they did your cougar....management is going to happen and animals are going to die...I just think private hunters with hounds are the most ethical form of management..... how do you relate to ignorant people?

Oregon Senator Peter Courtney (liberal ) explained to me how the bears are claimed by a food bank, while the cougar are hauled to the landfill....I will get to him soon....I'm working on having 100% of the entire population educated come election time....Just like our presidental election.....Socialism or Capitalism...Just that simple!!!!!!!

Good luck dealing with idiots....We seem to have inherited your culls here in Oregon....

I am putting my feelings in words just like the anti's do, IF ANY PERSON OR ANIMAL BRINGS HARM TO MY DOGS ON PURPOSE I WILL NOT HESITATE IN DISPATCHING THAT THREAT. I just want the world to know how most of us really feel out here that run dogs. I truly love them like my kids and I say the same thing when it comes to there well being also. If you don't know by now, if sb1221 passes, it will give the government permission to kill your dog's when they see fit. Then turn around and let people that work for the government do the same thing with dogs as we did, as we the tax payers fit the bill. Im not anti government I just see it getting way to big and forgetting the people that pay for the government like me and you. The last two meetings at the capitol have showed me a lot we get no respect from the legislatures for the people that live out side of the big city's, it will come to a head one day I think sooner than later. GOD HELP THE BEING THAT THREATENS MY DOGS IS ALL IM SAYING.

Exactly Mark-- NO ONE is going to EVER shoot one of my animals, PERIOD! I don't understand why that was never brought up in the first hearing, that this bill would make it legal for law enforcement to shoot our dogs..?? I would think that alone would make some "animal lover" supporters of this bill think twice about how "humane" this bill is.

And while I'm writing here, can everyone who hasn't please go to http://www.change.org/petitions/the-gov ... top-sb1221 and take just a few seconds to sign this online petition? Thank you!

I also wish there was more of a heads up for showing up at these meetings (I know of a few people who couldn't join me at the last one because they didn't have enough time to get the day off from work) but am wondering if that's the Senate's plan... to keep us in the dark for as long as possible so they can get as few of us as they can to attend. At this last hearing I was able to bring my folks along and my dad just *knew* that with only 3 supporters of the bill standing up to speak and hundreds of hunters lined up to oppose the bill that there was no way it could go through.... but goes to show that these politicians already knew how they were going to vote. Which is why we need to be on the phone and mailing letters! They are ignorant and need to be educated and know that our fight will not stop until this has ended!

I am with you Freedom-- there is no difference! HSUS doesn't care about the animals... their priority is making laws and taking our rights away. I think that while we do everything we can to try and stop this bill, we also need to be exposing the HSUS for what it REALLY is! Too many people think they are doing a good thing by donating $$ to the HSUS when in reality they are helping them make laws that would ALLOW OUR DOGS TO BE SHOT!

“We are going to use the ballot box and the democratic process to stop all hunting in the United States … We will take it species by species until all hunting is stopped in California. Then we will take it state by state.” Wayne Pacelle, Senior VP Humane Society of the US (HSUS), Full Cry Magazine, October 1, 1990.

^^ All of us need to stick together and fight this, no matter which state you live in! If SB 1221 passes, it will be only the beginning...

We here in Arizona feel for you. We have a group called Arizona Citizens Defence League ( AZCDL) That helped Arizona get where it is today. Maybe you guys in Cali can form some sort of lobby group, even talk to them to help you get started. I copyed a list of what they did for us this last session.

The following are firearms related bills that were signed by the Governor this session. The effective date on these legislative changes is August 2nd, 90 days after Sine Die.

HB 2457, which allows the possession of an otherwise “prohibited” weapon (i.e., for self-defense) while hunting, was signed by the Governor on April 10th.

HB 2639, the Game and Fish Omnibus Act, was signed by the Governor on April 17th.

HB 2640, which prohibits the Game and Fish Commission from limiting magazine capacity on any authorized firearm regulated by the Commission, was signed by the Governor on March 21st.

HB 2728, which allows the use of sound suppressors when hunting, was signed by the Governor on March 29th.

SB 1241, the AzCDL-requested bill which removes local control over the disposition of forfeited weapons, was signed by the Governor on April 4th.

With the exception of SB 1241, the pro-rights firearms legislation that the Governor signed primarily dealt with hunting. The following broader right to bear arms bills met stiff resistance in the Legislature, and only one (HB 2729), because of your activism, made it to the Governor’s desk.

We can now hunt mountain lion and coyotes at night here too.

California Department of Fish and Game is probably just like The Oregon Department of Fish....They claim to have to remain neutral in politics....IF YOU DON'T INCLUDE GOVERNMENT HOUNDS IN 1221, YOU GUYS ARE SCREWED, YOU WILL NEVER GET YOUR HUNTING BACK.....ALL OUR GAME DEPARTMENTS ARE GOVERNMENT....BOTTOM LINE THEY GROW GOVERNMENT AND DON'T CARE....WORKS BETTER FOR GROWTH OF GOVERNMENT AND THE FUTURE.

U.S.FISH AND WILDLIFE IS BEHIND THE INTRODUCTION OF THE WOLF TO HAVE LONG TERM JOBS LONG AFTER SPORT HUNTING IS ELIMINATED...CREATE A PROBLEM AND BECOME THE SOLUTION....I GET HAMMERED BY ONE OF THE USDA GUYS ON THIS BOARD....HE USED TO BE JUST LIKE ME UNTIL HE REPLACED THE GUY IN COLORADO WHEN HE RETIRED FROM USDA, BACK IN THE SHADE TREE FORUM ERA....HIS CLAIM IS TO NOT BASH USDA, THEY SIMPLY HAVE HOUNDS AND WILL HUNT BECAUSE THIS IS THERE JOBS.....OKAY.....DONE, CUT CLOSER TO THE PROBLEM(NEVER MIND THE WOLF AND U.S. FISH AND WILDLIFE) GO AFTER YOUR GAME DEPARTMENTS....GOVERNMENT IS GOVERNMENT NO MATTER IF IT IS STATE OR FEDERAL.....DON'T MATTER!

PAY ATTENTION TO OUR NATIONAL TREND....LOOKING BACK ON OREGON....I WOULD CONCENTRATE LESS ON PROTECTING OUR RIGHTS AND SHUT DOWN GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION....ANIMALS ARE GOING TO DIE....LEAVE THEM ALONE FOR THREE YEARS AND YOU WILL SEE A COUGAR KILL A HUMAN, IT IS BAD ENOUGH NOW WITH GOVERNMENT KILLING YOUR COUGAR.....THEY WILL REINSTATE HOUND HUNTING SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY WILL HAVE NO CHOICE.....NOW THEY HAVE CHOICES AND SOLUTIONS.....

HERE THE CATCH ALL KILL ALL EVEN CUBS, (THEY DON'T ACTUALLY CATCH THE CUBS BECAUSE THE FOOT IS TOO SMALL JUST THE SOW) SNARE HAS REPLACED OUR SO CALLED UNETHICAL BUT THE ONLY PROVEN ABILITY TO SELECT HARVEST HOUNDS AS A MANAGEMENT TOOL....ETHICAL GOVERNMENT HOUNDS FOR COUGAR HAVE REPLACED SPORT HUNTERS UNETHICAL HOUNDS FOR COUGAR? ODFW WILL CLAIM WE CAN BOOT HUNT......LEARN FROM THE MASTERS OF SPIN IN OREGON....ODFW! THEY WILL SIMPLY SAY THEY HAVE NO CHOICE AND MOST HUNTERS WILL CONCUR WITH THEM....KEEP DIGGING INTO YOUR POCKETS FOLKS TO SUPPORT GOVERNMENT KILLING....

THE ONLY THING THAT WILL CHANGE IN CALIFORNIA IS WHO WILL DO THE HUNTING/MANAGEMENT....ODFW IN PUBLIC COMMENTS CLEARLY STATE THEY KILL COUGAR AND ARE HAULING THEM TO THE LANFILL AND THIS SEEMS TO NOT BOTHER ANTI HUNTERS, SPORT HUNTERS AND MANY HOUND HUNTERS..... JUST AS LONG AS IT IS NOT PRIVATE HOUNDS....HOWEVER THERE IS SOMETHING MAGICAL ABOUT UNETHICAL GOVERNMENT.....WORKS IN WASHINGTON DC....

Dan,

Use this one quote by pacelle.

— Full Cry magazine, Oct 1990

What do you think? Are they trying to help out a dog or cat or is one mans personal agenda and beliefs being pushed on a state to infringe upon the rights of others. My freedom is being stripped away. How can people allow this to happen? Seriously WTF!!!

Something I talked about on another thread . Is there a national houndsmen group for lobbying for us. With all the houndsmen of the usa and canada we have good numbers in the west it seems as everyone belongs to little clubs and organizations . If we had one parent clubs for all. this fight it might be more effective. I am by no means in anyplace to start such a thing but just an idea.
