thinks man i was just wondern you see this kind of hunting is kind of new here and i got in to it becuse like i said i have always been into the old ways of hunting and for some reason hunting withe things like a lurcher has fasnited me does it matere what kind of terriers x to use the kind i have seen around here the most are the airdales

How about a 1/4 pit cross? Giving it 1 quarter of power to kill and 3 quarter the speed for the hunt. I mean you can cross it with a small terrier but its not going to be as powerful, not small enough for ground, and maybe not enough legs for the run, i would say use a bigger terrier. I think "California catchers" have one or two of them, looks really nice !

If you can find yourself a real good young coonhound or coyote hound type gyp and put her to a big strong, fast coyote type sighthound you will be happy with that in your country. I'm being very serious here. Give it a whirl and you will not be disappointed at all. People realy underestimate just how good this type of crossed up mongrel can be.
