Stoufer: that sounds English enough to me. You better not let them Irish/Scottish realatives know you been paying attention to that guy. What If I had taken your word for it and showed up in one of those Northwoods bars and told em I was in the woods gettin after a queen today? mercy. I dont even want to think about it.

I have always heard the females were harder, but atleast in the NorthWest the females in the 12 to 18 pound range seem to climb the easiest. Usually in about a half hour they are up. The bigger females and Big tom seem to frustrate me. Maybe my dogs like little females????????????? I know I try not to harvest anything under 20 lbs. cause they usually end up being females

I feel it really does depend on the cat. Around here 30 pound plus toms that carry a lot of body fat are the easiest. The toughest from my expereince is a cat that is in better shape. I really think more of the slick and snotty ones were mature females. Many of these never line out when jumped. I cat that lines out in this country we can usually catch. Of couse fresh snow and a traveling cat are your best friend. If it takes you and your dogs two hours to figure out which end is the right end of a hare hunting cat and you stll catch a good percentage of those, well then you got yerself a catdog.
