I'll be ther again also, maybe the people that use work as a excuse for not showing up will also, after all when they take dog hunting from us they can make up for lost work because they won't have anything better to do. Mike

Don't think that there isn't a fight being fought for us at the Capital there are at least 6 lobbiests working on this and another 15-20 that are spending a lot of time and energy dealing with this, I've been to the Capital twice a week for the last 3 weeks and I know of several others that have done the same, CHC is working full time on this having some body at the Capital 3-4 times a week and meeting with our lobbiests almost daily, we are also working on becoming a political power working with several of our Senators and Asssembly members donating to some and endorcing others, from were you guy's from out of state stand it may not look like very much is going on but there is, for the guys from California you need to make the calls to the Assembly members all week long everyday let them know how much this means to you and your way of life, THIS THE MOST IMPORTANT WEEK OF THIS THING!

DALE THANK YOU VERY MUCH AGAIN!!!! It is small tidbits of information like the above I am sure will keep the rest of the country in your corner. I don't think that there is one of us that feels this is your problem alone. And I don't think there are any that have a problem dipping into their wallet. I also believe that every corporation that has anything to do with any kind of hunting equipment clothing rifles and ammunition etc. etc. etc. better believe that this is not just about hound hunting. And also shouldn't have a problem dipping into their wallets. And I sure hope that somebody has spent some time talking to the corporations.

And Dale, CRA, and the others that are working hard. I don't think the houndsmen of California have an enemy on this forum. I don't know what you're going to do to get the deadbeats off of their asses. I thought maybe that I could be the one that would piss them off enough to get up and do something. As far as work being an excuse not to get out there and support your cause. I would recommend taking a couple of the vacation days or sick days you thought you were going to use for hunting. Or you may end up having golf as your next hobby. Good luck, Willy

just thought that I should post this here also.

MBHA to donate $10,000

Post by duster »

Hey guys,

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Michigan Bear Hunters Association is donating $10,000 to USSA to help defeat SB1221. The money will be used only to fight this bill in CA.

See guys, I told you there was plenty of help out there. There is more help out there also. But to have the fella from MBHA not get a private message returned. And have to give USSA the donation, because no one got back to him definitely leads people to be confused. I sure hope that this is just a learning process so that we are better organized for the next time. And there will be another time. THANK YOU MICHIGAN BEAR HUNTERS ASSOCIATION!!! I believe your Association should be a role model for all others to follow. Take care, Willy

Just one more thing, I would love to turn the TV on to watch the evening news somewhere around 26 June or shortly after. And see some kind of national coverage from a massive turnout against the bill. What do you think guys can you make it happen? Take care, Willy

All those who are CHC member's and are getting the Bear Hunting Magazine.. turn to pages 35,36 and 37. There are TWO articles about the Antis attempt to ban hunting in Maine and Michigan. The one on Michigan hits home a little too much. I'm trying to figure out how to print this particular article and send it to the assembly members... it praises Michigan for its efforts on fighting the antis and boast about how the bear population is thriving because of its STATE OPERATED bear management program/biologists (similar to our DFG) and the use of baiting and dogs to reach the quota of bears allowed to be harvested every year to keep the population under control! It even goes on about how baiting and hounding are the ONLY forms of selective harvesting... DING DING DING!

If anyone has insight on how to print off this article, please help lol. I'm not 100% computer savvy! :)

Nevermind! The publisher granted me access to the articles! I will be printing them out and delivering them to the assembly members this week.

Mike, look forward to the handshake. I've been away from the East Coast for 17 to 18 years. There was a time that I knew quite a lot of guys out that way. They're probably still out there it's just been so long just lost contact. Somebody needs to somehow also get a hold of the Kentucky houndsmen Association, it's been so long I can't remember and it's probably somebody different in charge now anyway. But I'm telling ya back in the day that Kentucky houndsmen's Association was just as double tough as Michigan. I'm sure there are other strong ones, but like I said it's been a long time and they may be sitting on their wallets because of all the confusion. I know that you can't let the whole cat out of the bag, but there has to be some kind of communication that lets everybody that wants to help know that they're not just throwing money in the toilet. I think things like the paragraph that Dale T posted the other day should make a big difference. And I still believe there should be some kind of a national membership where everybody could say kick in 50 bucks and the money would stay in escrow drawing interest for absolutely nothing but legal fees for this type of nonsense. I don't know if the guy is still around, his name was Ed Able of Ables black and tans. He is a lawyer, and used to do uncountable things for houndsmen. And he may possibly not do it anymore as I am sure there were some that took advantage but I'll ask around and see what I can find out. Good luck and don't let any grass grow under your feet, it ain't over till it's over. Take care, Willy

P.S. if Arizona doesn't smarten up they'll be playing golf also. As most here are too busy beating their chest. If you think you guys have a little bit of confusion when they knock on the door here it'll be like the a bomb went off. They can laugh if they would like to, but they already lost their trapping.
