jacathunter, how do you like the rubber mats compared to carpet for stability for the hounds on top? do they seem to be able to grip it as well as carpet when it gets wet?

I've always liked rubber mats on top. The dogs seem to ride it well and its easy to get the poo and pee off of when you hunt idiot pups. lol

I made this dog box out of 2x4 and 1/2 inch plywood. It's kinda overkill but it's what I had to work with. Made it with divider inside for the simple reason that they are handy at times. Put two eye bolts on top for rigging. Had it sprayed with super liner from three way auto body. I wanted a finished look and something for the dogs to grip on top. Turned out well I'm pleased.

Had to have my bother get inside to tighten the eye bolts because I made the doors to small for me to fit in.

just finished my first box....hopefully the last. its 4' x 4' x 27'' made it out of 5/8 plywood and 2x2s sheeted it with thin sheetmetal welded doors and caulked it inside and out.insulated the back and the top. it should hold 6 dogs but very heavy.

This box I made will hold 24 dogs 12 per side plenty of storage on top plus a full size bed roll on a short bed dodge

Added two more windows last year. Much better.
Owens should do this to start with IMO. Or at least make it an option.
Talking the not so nice lady at Owens into selling em to me was,,, well,,,, a challenge.

Here is one I made for my 1993 Toyota I wanted it just the way I wanted to I built it myself. Have about 20 hours in it and abot 250.00 dollors fits 8 medium size hounds no problem.
