Gascons / My First Lion

Guys,
It is with great pride that I describe to you all my first lion experience.
We are hunting a ranch in foot hills of the Sierra Madre in Mexico.
I wanted to end the hunt by roading the dogs to a tank I have back in the hills.
Upon arrival the dogs started to hit on a cat. Before I could get the puppy out of the truck they struck and we were off. They ran him for about and hour. It got hot. It seemed when chased the lion moved form the thick cover of the valley floor into the low brush and rocks of the hills sides where he eventually slipped the dogs.
Although we did not kill the lion, this encounter was big for me. I was schooled by the experience.
Conditions: The temp was between 95 and 105. They struck at 9AM.
Humidity low. At the writing of post is 44% in Eagle Pass, Texas.
I would like to thank Nathan and Carey and especially David.
Without their guidance I would probably still be loosing my temper at dogs that just cant do this.
Rob
