I have two boxes, one is for the summer and the other is for winter which only last about 2 months here.

The winter one is mostly wood with a steel frame. The summer one is mostly steel with a wood platform.
I made both of them so I could load and unload by myself.

Those are mine.

I made this box this winter. It is 4 feet wide, 3 feet deep. There are two compartments which are 2 feet by 3 feet each. The doors are held in place by normal 3 inch hinges and the latches are locking t latches. I used about 80 feet of 1 inch by 1/16 inch wall square tubing throughout with the exception of some 1/2 inch square tubing for the strike holes to keep the dogs in and on the doors. I used 1/2 inch plywood to cover the whole box and used 1 x 6 wood to separate the two compartments. I used self tapping screws to place 1/2 inch plywood over the strike holes during the cold months, but will change that this fall with pieces of 1/2 inch angle iron to slide plywood into and hold it in place. I am also working on a rigging rail which will be made out of 1 1/2 inch angle iron and 1 1/2 inch square tubing which will bolt to the box and be removable.

The front is a jump box for my stag hounds and the back is for my lion hounds..

I just measured everything and had all the metal bent and cut in town and then we welded it together in our shop. Its carpeted inside and the roof is insulated and there is storage on the top.
