Hog hunting in SE Tx
A few of us are headin to Tx from WI to hunt some hogs in mid March, we have a small chunk of private to hunt but thats over bait, I am hoping to find someone in the area who runs dogs and would let us come along with them. I run bears in WI and would much rather chase em with dogs than sit over ...

Re: copying map card?
Nope, I just tried to do it last night and spoke to garmin about it this morning, you have to have the cd for it to work. I thought it would be easy cause it was only a single file but it keeps telling me "can not unlock maps". Just another way for garmin to keep us buying stuff!

Looks like you had a better weekend than I did, after getting on 2 walking bears one of my dogs decided to find a porcupine and we spent Saturday night pulling quills!

Garmin and marine radios
Just got my garmin and I run marine radios in my truck, just wondering what is safe to do around the garmin, I just have a regular marine radio 25 watt or 5 watt on high and low. Can I use the 25 watt setting or am I stuck using the 5 watts. Also has anyone used a garmin truck antennae on trucks ...

Re: Attention WI Bear Hunters
I love the idea of letting bait sitters go first every year, would save a lot of conflicts between houndsmen and bait hunters, in my opinion let them have the first week every year. Bait sitting does not affect hound hunting like running dogs affects bait sitters. No back tags would be great as ...

Re: Ivermect for heart morm
My vet told me 1/2 cc per 50 lbs, thats what I use, never had any problems with heartworm or a dog having a bad reaction to that amount.

Re: bait sitter, kills 736lb bear in WI
I guess I won't be buying meat from that palce, probably would charge me for 5 lbs of steak when there is only 1 lb in the package! I have seen alot of bears in WI and unless that bear has a belly full of lead no way that is over 700 lbs. Just because they ran a news story about it doesn't make it ...

Re: sow with cubs
The one we treed 2 weeks ago put her cubs up right away and then ran for 4 hours, looping back near her cubs 6 or 7 times before finally teeing with them. Then last weekend we had one take her cubs with her, they ran for about 45 minutes before treeing up but as soon as we leashed dogs she bailed, I ...

Re: What to do with Orphaned Pups
My vet recomends between 3 and 5 weeks, my last litter the female killed one pup so we pulled them off of her at 3 weeks, we did the same as listed above, soft puppy food and milk replacer, we also used regular baby rice mixed with milk replacer which seems to be easy to eat and digest for them, all ...

Re: plott health
Could be Lymes disease, that causes the limbs to lock up and run a fever, get em to a vet right away, it can be fixed pretty easy if they treat it early it will permanently hurt the dog if it goes to long.
