Now I am aware that there's no such thing as a black mountain lion or panther in the USA but I was told someone in OK had a full body mount of a lion that he dyed black. Does anyone know of this individual or have a good photo of it that I could use in an article that I am writing for The Journal of the Texas Trophy Hunter? I will be more than happy to give you photo credit.
Thanks,

Re: Photo of a Black Mountain Lion
Gary this is a story told to me by a man that i new well in his old age. Joe was working in the logging woods when they put the first bounty on them here in Oregon for a $1 a day.he started hunting lions them and made a living at it and went into ranching. I sat by a camp fire and listen to him a lot now I know hound men can stretch or add to a story. I ask him if he had every seen a black lion, his answer was the had killed one and sold the hide for $100. i think his story was true. In the 70' or early 80' I saw a picture of a black cat crossing a field it look good but the cat was at a distance that was a time when people did not have the tools we have today to alter a picture. I hunted that area for a few years not see or hearing any body treeing one. I have seen albino bobcat skins and a white coyote and white coyote skins in a area I have seen a lot of time hunting and trapping but no prize. Dewey
