My older dogs are medium to long range, going out 1 or 2 miles to find a track and will run a hot track until they've got something bayed or treed, or until I pull them out, but they're hit and miss on cold tracks (not a big deal for me, I got Catahoulas expecting them to be hot nosed ...

We've got some mountain lion, but mostly bobcat. We don't have much in the way of bear where I live, but it's something I've thought about, I just don't think I'd be able to get out and hunt much.
