Re: trapline dogs/hounds
What are trapline dogs used for?
Following drags.
Finding scent posts, or creating scent posts.
Running down coyotes if they should pull out of a trap.
Any number of things, plus they are great partners.
You can use any kind of a dog. Some bloodlines work better than others.

Re: headed for the arizona strip / gear question.
hdhounds, was curious if you made it back, and how it went?
Most of that country washed away just before Christmas. 13" in 7 days.
I wasn't pretty or fun.
Did cut a record book lion just before all that rain hit around Mud Mtn.

Re: Irish Terrieers?
Nice looking dogs.
Yeah, I know I'm afraid if we got a small dog we'd spend more time digging them out.
So will have to go with the 20-37 lb type dog.
They'd be used mainly on a trapline and being a bud.
Just looking for something different in a dog.
Are you going to breed? Don't know anything ...

Irish Terrieers?
Does any one know of any Irish Terrier breeders from working stock?
Anyone have any experience with this breed?
Like the looks of the breed.
For those of you who have mtn curs from the Owyhee Nevada Jack bloodline, Jack has passed on, a couple weeks back.
Would like to replace with a small type ...

robskid, one thing you should point out is that your dad and Pat did the majority of their hunting off of foot or snowshoes. Maybe a willies jeep to get there and back.

Re: nafa
Doogie, you must be shipping straight to Wisconsin depot? Then you can ship with out a receiving agent. But not over the border. But Wisconsin is pretty much the receiving depot for the midwest.
Re: nafa
Your buyers are selling at NAFA too.
You got lucky last year on your furs.

Re: bobcats?
What critters?
Bobcats- no one has sold any fresh goods for this season but half of last year. Hearing $150 avg or less.
Coyotes- no market, finding a buyer to buy one is the hard part. $2-$10 is what I've heard.
Beaver- no market
Muskrats-$3.
Mink-$10 or so
Grey Fox- no firm market
Red Fox-$10-$15

Re: price of dog food
If you have a Steve Regan store near by you can go and buy by the 500lb lot and get a fair deal on Diamond dog food.
