Re: nafa
Willie; The N A F A is the North American Fur Auctions, They are the largest fur house in Canada. I have sold my fur there for years and have had no truble. Your fur is graded and put into large lots then put up at auction, there could be more then a hundred buyers at a sale. You will get your cheque in few days. For more info go to www.nafa.ca They have places in the U S that you can send to. Good luck Jack
Re: nafa
The thing with NAFA is if the market is good you will get good prices. All hides are bar-coded with you account info. You have to contact NAFA and set up an account and then you will receive you information packet with locations and who is your nearest pickup agent. You can not send direct to NAFA.
The down side if you don't have quality prime fur and put up decent, the price will reflect that.
Your furs may not sell and can sit for a while or they can be private treaty sold. So don't expect to send furs and receive a check. Most of the time you will get a check but just letting you know what could happen.

Re: nafa
I've sold to local fur buyers in the past but last year I got quotes from 2 local buyers and than sent my fur to NAFA to compare. The local guys all came in around 155 to 165 on my cats for an average of 14. NAFA got me a 296.00 average and held my best 5 cats over because they didn't get the best price so they should sell at the first sell this year. Sucks to know the local buyers have been making 150 bucks or so on my last 6 years worth of cats. It comes to something like 16000K I could have made for myself if the spread was the same all those years. Good luck NAFA is the best way to go and they won't steal your fur.

Re: nafa
Thats right the buyer are also selling there. But there taking my furs at a bit better than half that they turn around and sell them for and all they do is have some capitol to invest. They do take a risk but why not make the best for yourself when you sell.
