Re: Dc30 question
I rinse mine with water right before I connect the charger. Seems like they are easier to charge after they have run completely out of power. Its a little frustrating to say the least. They need a cover for the connection on the collar to keep the mud out of them. Does anyone have a problem with ...

Re: Danner Boots
Danners are junk for hard use. Their soles are glued on and after getting wet and then dried they seperate. I fight fire for a living and the best boot I have ever bought are Whites. You pay more, around 400.00 for them, but they last and they are rebuildable. The only downfall is they usually arent ...

Re: how many coons in one night.
I live in the same area as Walkerrule and have treed 10 coons in a night. If you hunt down in the valley around the river here you can put the hurt on em. When their moving that is. I have a honey hole with about 4 miles of river and a good road to hunt, and when their moving out there its like fish ...

Re: another good cat
Nice cat, you know, for every one you tree on the road like that your gonna have 20 down in the bottom somewhere. Atleast that's how it goes for me. Are you gonna try to chase some snow this weekend? Sounds like snow at about 3500 feet.

Re: Hello also new to hound huntin and from Oregon as well
Sounds like you might get some snow for the weekend over there. Get out and give it hell if you can. Probably wont get much for snow over here but I'll give it a try anyhow. Theres still some good spots to hit over here.

Are you from Douglas County? Theres quite a few good hunters down here I'm sure you could get some good dogs to start out with.

Re: Hello also new to hound huntin and from Oregon as well
I was wondering about that. Wonder how many are in the cascades? Sad thing is, Oregon is gonna be the worst state to deal with it. At least in Idaho their killing a few of them.

Re: Hello also new to hound huntin and from Oregon as well
Whats the deal over there. I know you haven't had the snow but there should be some cats somewhere. Do you guys ever hunt any of the ranches over there where theres not many hunters? Is the population pretty low now?

Re: coon tracks
It's all about repetition. If you can get them on some hot tracks and some easier races it would help. I have a female that I trained up on coons and she did'nt start treeing by herself until she was about a year and a half. She would run tracks fine but wasn't interested in treeing until she saw ...

Re: Hello also new to hound huntin and from Oregon as well
Have you central oregon guys had any luck yet? I spent half a day yesterday cold tracking one and finally treed it down in a nasty hole. It had a ringtail. I guess that's what happens when you start them out coon hunting as pups. I think the old straight cat hunters would probably laugh at me, but I ...

One More Oregonian
I have been reading this forum for a few weeks and I couldn't take it anymore, have to get my two cents in once in while. Us Oregon hunters must feel like reaching out since we can't hunt the big game anymore! Anyhow, I've hunted with dogs most of my life around Douglas County, currently have four ...

Re: Best/Most consistant producing walkers
Be careful with the line out of Enterprise, I don't think he's in the business anymore and I have seen a couple spaniel/walker crosses that came from there. Just saying that there is some rumors flying around.
