Re: New Colorado state record?

Never mind, I found it on google. Muzzy you can google Co. state record or Brian Williams mtn lion. Not as big a I thought it would be. They go by scull size anyway, but I thought it would weigh more than 220. And the old record was held by one of our U.S. Presidents, thats pretty cool.

I just seen that someone mention that there may be a new Colorado state record lion and was just wondering if anyone knows anything about it. How big?, where about?, and who?

Re: wow is all i have to say

I was going to say that California needs to just fall off the edge of the earth, but then all them S.O.B.'s would be coming this way.

Re: How do you know if it's a tom?

Yes, I know how to tell in the tree or if it's a hugh track but I'm just wondering about track size , like i heard that the rear of the pad has to be over 2 1/16 inches or that the stride length on same side is over 40". Do you know if that is true?

How do you know if it's a tom?

What is the best way to tell by a track if it is a tom? Size of rear pad or legnth of stride on same side? and what are those measurements to know for sure besides puting them in a tree ( before someone comments on that.) LOL. I have been running about everything and havent caught a tom yet, lots of ...

scratches?

I have been finding more and more scratch piles and was wondering if a female will make a scratch pile or just males. A female has to pee somewhere and i would assume they would cover it up like any cat.

Two lions today

Found a fresh kill and thought it would be an easy hunt for the dogs expecially the young ones. but it didn't turn out so easy. I was worth the two mile hike when we got to the tree and had two lions and all the dogs there.

Cat scratch?

What does a cat scratch look like and what does it mean when you ask how often are they used. Anyone have any pictures? I guess I have never seen one?

Re: who runs without tracking gear?

Foolish with out collars if you ask me. A few days ago I turned out on a two day old track at noon. We finally found the dogs about 6 miles and 5 hours later under the tree laying down because they were to tired to even bark any more, at least until they seen us coming. All the tracks were covered ...

Young dog wont strike!

Any ideas? I have a yearling dog that makes it to the tree every time but cannot scent out a hot track. Before I put my lead dog on a track I try letting my younger dog find it and just walks right over it. He always has his nose to the ground but just cannot find a lion track. Last week I bayed up ...

Cat Fight

Here are some pictures of a cat that either wouldn't tree or fell out of the tree. Not sure what happened but when I got to the tree the cat was jumping up from the bottom of the pile of dogs.

Day or Night hunting?

I have some pretty good lion dogs that always hunt in the snow. But I have turned out on a couple of bobcats and not had much luck. From everything I am reading it takes a lot of try and a lot of time. I was just wondering is it any easier running at night compared to daytime? I seems like it would ...
