How about a 1/4 pit cross? Giving it 1 quarter of power to kill and 3 quarter the speed for the hunt. I mean you can cross it with a small terrier but its not going to be as powerful, not small enough for ground, and maybe not enough legs for the run, i would say use a bigger terrier. I think ...

I asked because Red Bones looks great and smart with lots of drive but not really common, is it because they are too expensive or what? I am a jagd guy but if i ever get a hound red bones would be at the top of the list!

Whats wrong with Red Bones?
Really new to coon hunting but from what i see a lot of coon dogs they are mostly Walkers, Blue, Black and Tans, crosses, etc. I do see Red bones here and there but not so much, just wondering why Red bones are not as common as other dogs?

Four days after the accident with the porcupines my bros took the pups out and Joker wanted to go along, but still limping. So they went out and joker was only walking 5 feet ahead and he started tracking and ran off, 5 mins later he treed two coons, one in a small tree and one in a bigger tree ...

Hey anybody on here coon hunts in Minnesota? Just wondering if any of you guys run into porcupines a lot with your hounds, cause my last couple of hunts i hunted in nemadji state forest for badgers, coons, and bobcats but i ran into porcupines instead!
