I just had a similar problem.I got some stuff from the vet that was like diluted iodine.I had to leave a hole open and shoot some iodine into it every day massage it around and let it drain for about a week.I would definately leave it open enough to drain.

I used some light 1" square tubing.then used L brackets to bolt it to a piece of 1/2" plywood that was the width of my quad rack and length of the dogs.I have had as many as 5 dogs on it and it weighs probably 20 lbs.

I bought an 84 toyota for $1500 to hunt out of and drive to work this was when diesal was $4.00 a gallo.I get 20 mpg out of the toyota and 18 out of the dodge.Figure the toyota will pay for itself in less than a year.Also hunt off our quads quite a bit this saves a lot.

I'd say stepping off a horse,the horse spun caught my boot in the stirrup nothing major but broke the ankle.$25,000 in 2 surgeries and at 37 I can't run or jump anymore.Oh well it ain't going to slow me down none.
