caught this lion yesterday. it was an easy trail and my dogs didn't have to work or didn't learn a thing, but it is always cool to see one of them up a tree. Just let it go. Nice looking tom.

believe me I hear ya! Actually spent 9 straight days riding and hunting for this guy. My hunting buddy found a kill but had to go home that next day. I checked the kill and this lion had been there. otherwise I'd still be looking.

I like crummy lion pics too. If you take enough of them though you usually end up with one or two that ain't half bad. This is one of my favorites.

Out of 30 or so pics that were questionable got that out of the pile. Gotta love quality digital cameras. Just erase the crap and keep shootin.

And sometimes you get one that turns out better than you thought....got this photo the other day while trying to catch a female lion for a reaserch project, this is her yr old kitten... to small to collar....even if it would have been big enough there was no way we could have gotten the job done.

They are a little of everything!!!!
I picked up a B&Tmale pup about 18 yrs ago that was from Mi. he was a Tuff Creeks Black Hawk on the top and Winter Hawks Black Cinder on the bottom....I never kept any records other than the registration papers from him when I bought him.
I bred him a couple yrs later to a 1/2 Cameron female and kept 2 pups.
The old hound with the white muzzle is one of those pups, he's 14 now and still huntin.
That is one of his 1 yr old pups beside him..
I am still looking for confermation on the female that this pup is out of, papers say she was a full Cameron, she died when the pup was 5 weeks old and the guy that owned her did not care about papers and trashed them...I spoke with Del the other day trying to track down the history on the female...hope to find out what she was .


They get the job done well enough to satisfy me so I will get another litter out of them next year.
