Bugger lives right by the highway and messes around in a sewage outflow pond all the time
Its RIGHT on the highway and I had some close calls last year and have had nothing but bad luck the last couple times out so I opted to wait and see if the bear crossed the mainline headed to the mountains where I'd dump mine in on him... well he didnt so props to my friends dogs.
His buddy dumped his first bear and above hounds to boot, he was pretty happy, he's a nice bear.
He treed about 50' up an old cedar, it took a few to bring him down
Never seen so much fat on a spring bear, he had over 1.5" of lard on him, such a low elevation dwelling bear, likely the last to bed and first to rise !

Bears arent moving much, just feeding in the same spots for days on end with food being fairly concentrated, real hard for the dogs to sort through the hot spots of scent and get something going. They're waddling through 2' deep swamps sucking back all the greens and skunk cabbage. Not really anywhere to actually trail.
We tried on 2 (of 2 dozen) other strikes and they couldnt line anything out, beds and turd piles everywhere.
