I do but I don't know if John is still alive or raising hounds today. I don't get Full Cry or magazines these days because I am not into curs or fiests. But I had a good many black dogs from Alba, Texas over the years and also enjoyed many a laugh with old John.

Might have to figure how to post some photos of those old line bred Wagner type dogs with lots of leg and grit to spare.

thanks mike that would b great. my buddy has a pack of black and tans and all this time we thought they were knight rider/trackdown but he dug out their papers and turns out they are knight rider/mcdonald. they are like you say plenty of legs and lots of grit. I would like to see some pics of the mcdonald side because his dogs all have a unique look to them just curious if it was from mcdonald side they look alot like knight rider they have long ears but a shorter muzzle and built for speed.

I don't think there is much of that blood left. I beleive John is still alive and may have a few dogs but beleive his "old" blood is outcrossed alot and nearly gone. My friend has a pack that are heavily Mcdonald dogs but if he doesn't get some pups on the groung soon his are going to dissapear also. I looked around alot for a Mcdonald dog for him to outcross to ( so i could get a pup :) ) and didn't have much luck. Could you pm me a pedigree on your buddies dogs?
