Puma De Mayo...
We ran this tom a few times this winter and he had me beat till yesterday. The dogs hit his track fresh but were on it backwards. Took me about an hour to turn them around but once they got going right the had him caught in about 30 minutes. Had a young dog really step up, think that lightbulb finally turned on in his little head. Enjoy.

The fascination of hunting cougar with hounds lies in the discovery and unravelling of a complicated trail, watching an honest hound strike out on a track that has been found and read, and finally bringing the animal to bay so that you can see it for yourself---Jerry A. Lewis

Re: Puma De Mayo...
Thanks for the kind words guys.
The tom had no pre-molars left in his mouth which usually happens about 8 years of age. Game and Fish aged him at 9-10 years old.
Mike-
The redtick is just a crossed hound out of Marshall's dogs in Northern Arizona, think the litter was accidental. That was his 4th lion he's seen and he was trailing right with the old dogs and treed solid for 4 hours in 80 plus degrees, pretty impressive for a 1 year old pup. He's the only dog that saw that lion way up that pine and wouldn't take his eyes off it. The other two solid red dogs are Jack Russel crosses.
