there is a map and compass test.then a lost person test which is you are out with a cliant and they get lost what would you do to find them.then a 24 answer oral.then over 500 qustions on hunting, fishing&boating, camping.i mest up the lost person but pasted the other stuff.so all i have to do now is pass the lost person.

the class was in belfast maine. it was 4 days long.

good luck on next try and remember to leave nothing unsaid about your pre trip plan and then follow up with the same process in the lost person scenario. this will show consistantcy and also let them know you have a process to not loose anyone that is the key they are looking for in my opinion. as i said good luck.

I have taken the course ,but have never taken the test as I have no desire to go into the guiding business . it amazes me when taking the course how little we actually KNOW. I would suggest to all that you take a course similar to this . The knowledge you gain is amazing. You will end up being a better Hunter, fisher ,trapper and all around SPORTSMAN.

bob nice comment and yes i agree with you and feel that anyone taking any of the state education training courses will benefit, not to be negative or knock anyone but as our sports we enjoy evolve we all can use education to keep up on new rules laws and well just information available. as a guide and avid sportsman i am sure new technology and information becomes available that i am not aware of, and need new training every now and again .
