u say u wipe your ass with paper but b4 that line you say yaw have written down the bloodlines. bet you didnt write it in the dirt, YOU WROTE IT ON PAPER. REGISTRATION DOESNT MAKE A DOG BUT IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT PRODUCING GOOD DOGS FOR A LIFETIME YOU GOTTA KEEP RECORDS OF WHAT WORKED AND WHAT DIDNT. THATS THE REASON I ASKED ABOUT REGISTRATION.

What I mean is there are so many people and breeders that breed only by a pedigree and not culling the bad ones out and so on
If they bred on ability and generations of quality breeding they would have better dogs and consistency
Every papered dog ive owned has been culled and I have had some that were supposedly some hi powered stuff im not saying all papered dogs are junk I have had no luck
The expression means dont breed on papers names and owners names so many are doing this breed on true ability in all perspectives
Sorry he I affended anyone its just my opinion
Hunt hard cull hard !

Thats too bad, but I dont think that would be considered the norm.

Papers do not make a dog it only documents the breeding. And that is dependent on the integrity of the breeder.

I have seen some excellent grade dogs, however if I was going to choose a pup and my choices were between a pup with a documented pedigree that I could actually look at and study, or a pup who's pedigree was recited from memory or word of mouth handed down from different hunters. I would be inclined to go with the documented pup.

I think everyone would agree with you as far as dogs being breed based on abillity, this should be the case for all dogs, registered or not.

The best plotts I have seen are grade from guys that have hunted them for years. Breed on results rather than papers or the almighty dollar. Cull hard and never breed just to get puppies out of just dogs that can run. Breed dogs that are better than Ok.

BEST?....Ever breed or blood line has good and bad traites..The thing you need to realise about the plott blood is they run to catch, and they run to bite.... they dont just run to be runing when u send them they are on a mission...No doubt in my mind there are faster breeds and colder nosed breeds; just depends on what u want in a dog... I have been raising plotts for over 15yrs and alot of people try and get me to try some other blood and i just laugh and say been there done that...I would quit hunting before i would own anything but plotts! So ya i just mite be color blind.. :beer
IF IT SQUATS TO PEE, LET IT BE....
