I just finished reading a few of the posts on some of the topics and it seems we are our own worst enemy at times.
Some are showing and disclosing activities that seem to be questionable as to weather they are legal or not.
Others commenting , it's cool keepum comming.
I believe we as houndsmen need to wake up and look at what is happening.
If you are going to post something like the Lion Hunt on the internet it's best you have your ducks in a row and make sure it is legal because you are going to be questions for your actions.
Who is reading and asking the questions on these posts???
Who is Thunderhorn or others? are they gathering information for when it is time for them to pass a bill in the state or proviance to close down hunting.
With these posts they have some hard data to present to the governing bodies capable of passing a ruling???
It would only take one person to email or call the S.A authorities about the lion hunt and the truth would be known and to who's benifit.
I agree with Thunderhorn, if we are not interested in protecting what we have we will loose it.
Think about it, they plan to build a 13 story Muslim Mosque across the street from ground zero in N.Y.City !!!!!!!
Hows that for a slape in the face to those American men and women who died from the 9-11 Muslim terriorist attack.
Don't say it will never happen..
Don't think we will have hound hunting for ever if we do not act accordingly and clean up a few things we are allowing the public to see and use against us.
I'm going to go run some hounds and be glad I am able to for now!!!
Good Hunting to everyone.

I agree Brent. Pictures depicting illegal activity or anything that could be turned against us such as pictures of our dogs killing animals, coons in cages, or pictures of multiple kills should not be posted. Anyone poaching, baiting illegally, or other illegal activities should not be tolerated.
The question is how do you deal with someone posting pictures like that. Do you talk to them privately or do you start a smear campain in an open public forum? I for one do not like the name calling approach. It should be simple. If pictures are offensive or illegal then PM Buddy. He can make the decision to remove them. I do not think starting a 10 page yelling match is the way to do it. What do you think Brent.

Right on Bearhunter, and Ike! Behind you guys 100%! There's no doubt poachers make all of us look bad, but go after them! That goes for the LAW too! The one bad apple theory is BS!
Re: What Should Houndsmen be Posting on this Fourm???
I agree Ike, but how do you know if they have broken the law? Sometimes you need to ask questions.Ike wrote:If someone has broken the law then turn'em in,
If a hunter posts some pictures and tells us a story of a big bear they have taken in an area that we know is closed, do we ask them them the circumstances of the hunt or just jump on the phone with the DWR?.....Who knows maybe it was a problem bear that they were called to hunt. If the hunt was on the up and up the hunter would have no problem telling how he came by it.
I think this can be done without dragging a guy through the mud.

This website could easily police itself by members sending other members PM's if they think the content they are broadcasting is less than legal, ethical or moral.
Rifleman sent me a Pm once about a post I did that had a picture of an injured dog. The topic was about protective vests for hog dogs. What I realized from Riflemans message is the picture I put up there could easly be twisted around against myself or others.
I posted the photo of the injured dog to make the point that hog dogs need at least a minimul ammount protection. Simply take that same picture and put it in a caption saying "hog hunting with dogs is imoral" and stand in a anti hunting protest. Which picture do you think would have gotten the most attention?? The one that was posted to promote protection for hog dogs?? Or the one that says "hunting with dogs is imoral????
Anything you post in here or anywhere else can be reposted against you. Either directly, or directly twards the dogs and the sport you love.

Gentlemen, please read my posts again and see if the questions I have asked have been answered in any way? Notice I have not made any character assaults.
In sharp and revealing contrast the degradation and attacks on my character and hounds are an obvious diversion from the topic and OFCOURSE will be dealt with personally.
There is no ‘jealousy’ or ‘dogs not measuring up’ or ‘lack of experience’ or ‘hidden agenda’ rubbish.
If you want to brag make sure it is legal and does not affect anyone else!
If you get questioned then man-up or alternatively don’t post personal data on a public site!

Re: What Should Houndsmen be Posting on this Fourm???
we really shouldnt post about hounds at all . lets change this site to a plant site .
its way safer. when i post pictures of tomatoes bigger than yours you can say how i used illegal methods to grow them that big , you will never catch me though im gonna eat the evidence. just about everything you say can be used against us. cause to these exstremists its all illegal . for instance i say i walked my children in to a bear treed. they can say they put children in harms way with a stressed out animal that could have turned on them . or we went to a bench show and got a trophy . they can say they make a dog stand on a bench the dog could fall off and get hurt all for a plastic trophy . if a person is posting illegal activities then their just culling themselves from our sport . authorities will use it against them .
