Dennis,
I had one of them Del Cameron books at one time but a freidn of mine decided he need it worse than me. I reckon he was right, LOL!
Anyway there was a photo in there of some guy way up in them north woods packing into the wilderness. He had them blueticks in dog boxes strapped on those pack animals. Now I really had to think about that for awhile. My dogs walk everywhere the horses do and if I let them hunt they usually travel 2-3 times the distance because they cast back and forth but if I tell them no hunting and get back then they just go along with the horse.
If I went to packing them dogs of mine till we cut a track or they rigged one off them pack animals I am quite sure the ghost of Dale Lee would appear in a cloud dust and bitch slap me out of the saddle while spitting copenhagen juice on me and screaming evolution be damned pilgrim. LOL!

Re: CRAZY THINGS LIONS DO
Actually I heard he rigged quite a bit out of small jojn boats and flat bottomed canoes while swamp hunting jaguars. They would motor up those waterways a bit and then paddle and pole those boats and those dogs would strike many times from the boats.
Don't know if they ever did much rigging out of a car or truck but I am sure it happened some. I know the frist real big game rig dog I saw work well was just tied in the bed of an old pickup and he was pretty deady on bear. I had a black dog that could rig a coon same manner out the back of a pickup going 60 miles and hour down the highway. When I first moved down into this country and saw some of the arly masters of real rigging I knew I hadn't seen much in the past. Ed Sittner, Van Johnson, Bobby Archuleta, and such had already perfected it pretty well but I beleive today it has evolved as you say another distance. Oh well I am sorry for getting off the crazy lions things.
How about some more of that cat crazy behavior out there????
