I remember hearing somewhere Marshall should have their new collars at Autumn Oaks. Has anyone else heard this.
I would also like to know if anyone has any idea of what their new collar will do. I would be willing to bet someone on this site has seen one or has heard some info they have been asked to keep quiet.
I think alot of people like me are waiting to see what they will be all about before making a decision on what to go with Garmin, Marshall or back to Telementry.
I love the GPS but they are high maintance. even without the frying issue i have had to send my unit back because it would not get gps signal and the charging port had some problems. and I have had to send all my Garmin collars back for different reasons.
We never had this kind of problem with the Telementry units you just bought them and with the execption of sending a collar back for charging every once in a while they were problem free.
Will Marshall Be at Autum Oaks with their new GPS/Telementry
Re: Will Marshall Be at Autum Oaks with their new GPS/Telementry
I seriously doubt you will see the Marshall system this year. I have stayed in touch with Marshall and the rep I spoke with doubted it would be out this year.
I did hear though that the Marshall was a GPS/Telemetry system.
I really wanted to try a Marshall as I own Marshall telemetry and have for years, but will probably end up buying a Garmin as marshall isn't even giving a time frame for their system

Clearly marshall is on the short bus right now...
If the field testers havent even seen one yet then they arent in production unless they just launch them and "wing it" but that is highly unlikely given the competitive nature of the business.

just got of the phone with Marshall. I did not talk to dennis but did talk to the lady that awnsers the phone. she was real nice but did not sound like they are very close to finishing for release.
So I guess unless they post something to their website or do some kind of press release it will be Garmin With a Marshal Telementry collar as backup until next year sometime.
I will still give them until August 1 i guess I will be buying 8 More Marshall collars to back up my Garmins
anyone want to by some quick track collars just charged last year and look great but the batteries are dead I think i have about 10 more to get rid of. 75 bucks each.

I don't know but, I saw in the new Full Cry Mag Marshalls add pretty much bashing Garmin. When and if they do come out with a GPS system it damn well better work or Garmin might say we told ya so.

Re: Will Marshall Be at Autum Oaks with their new GPS/Telementry
I like most of you, am interested in the new Marshall GPS system, so I called and left a message for Dennis. He called me back the next day and we talked for a good while. I cannot remember all of the questions that I asked, but he told me the range would be a lot better than Garmin, he eluded that there are various settings to conserve battery power like shutting off the gps automatically and using the telemetry mode after a set amount of time/days, and he emphasized that it would use or offer better maps. He wouldn't specify when I asked, but I suspect some type of 3-d topographic like google earth. He said that the hand held receiver would either house or have a small antenna attached for basic telemetry with the ability to hook up a 3 element yagi. BEST yet is they have supposedly handled the issue with 2 way radios burning up the receiver.
Again, just what I was told. I am not responsible for any lapse or error in my memory.
If the new Marshall lives up to the hype it may well be worth the cost although I would still wait a year to let them work out the production bugs.

Re: Will Marshall Be at Autum Oaks with their new GPS/Telementry
And see for me...I want one of the Marshalls when they first come out. Yes I know they will have to work through the bugs, but Garmin is still working through the bugs years later. I think anymore if a person waits till they work through the bugs...they will never buy as there will be a new better system out
I would already own a Garmin if I didn't like my Marshall system so much. I just hope their GPS is as quality as their telemetry. So I'm like Doghunter if Marshall doesn't sh$t or get off the pot soon....it will be Marshall telemetry with Garmin GPS
