How far removed before that dog is no longer part of that strain?

I hunt dogs that have been bred locally in Oregon/Cali for about 6 generations.. They are Walkers going back to the old dogs.. Clint, Tom Tom, Hershberger stuff... I've tried lots of other lines and other colors of dogs... but this line is what I'm staying with and trying to build around...

Have had pretty good luck with the Nance strain for the past 25+ years. Am also currently hunting a heavy Finley River male with a shot of Nance in him that is pretty impressive also.
The home of TOPPER AGAIN bred biggame hounds.

LAYSER.....ALLLL Day!
The fascination of hunting cougar with hounds lies in the discovery and unravelling of a complicated trail, watching an honest hound strike out on a track that has been found and read, and finally bringing the animal to bay so that you can see it for yourself---Jerry A. Lewis

"Houndn'em Bluetics" all day!!! the only reason I say that is the question was "what is your favorite breed to hunt?" i bred my dogs for years to get the specific traits that I like, that's why I say that. not because I think their better than anybody elses breeds, but just cuz they suit me to the ground.
"Houndn'Ems Blueticks" if it smells like a cat, they'll catch it.

Piute Mountain Redbone line that Brent Switzer brought out to wyoming from California. I loved those good ol red dogs.

Going to be trying something new here soon thanks to a very generous houndsman. I am sure she will be terrific.
I like my men like I like my mountains...... Rugged, challenging, and WILD!!!
